House of Mystery #235 - Nestor Redondo, Ramona Fradon art

House of Mystery #235

House of Mystery v1 #235, 1975
- A corpse carrier makes a deal with a warlock during Europe's infamous black plague. Nestor Redondo renders the story with consummate skill. Medieval-era castles and tavern interiors are ornately designed, along with period clothing nuanced facial expressions. His inks are arduously detailed, regardless of the setting. In "Spawn of the Devil", Ramona Fradon tells the story of a disturbed woman who adopts a seemingly demonic baby. Her artwork is typically light and cartoonish, but here she maintains a horrific edge. With the layouts are fairly standard, her storytelling is highly efficient. Cover by Luis Dominguez. This is 12 of 16 House of Mystery issues by Redondo. /// select Fradon art / Redondo gallery / original Redondo page
