Jace Pearson's Tales of the Texas Rangers #16
Jace Pearson of the Texas Rangers v1 #16, 1957 - Like his previous Texas Rangers issue, Alex Toth contributes another short story on the history of Texas. Charles Goodnight was the first to conceive of herding wild steers, and the ordeal of his first cattle drive is chronicled here. Told in a straightforward visual style, Toth's beautiful linework is present on nearly every panel. The final scene of cowboys attending a herd is especially peaceful and picturesque. The artist's inclusion of a distant helicopter cleverly transitions the story into modern times. Photo cover. This is 2 of 2 Jace Pearson's Texas Rangers issues by Toth.
