Brave and the Bold #85 - Neal Adams art & cover

Brave and the Bold #85, 1969 - An anti-crime bill in Congress and a large real estate deal bring together the mutual interests of the Batman and Green Arrow. Neal Adams designs a contemporary new costume for the archer, seen here for the first time. The artwork throughout is breathtaking, displaying a fresh realism rarely seen in comics. Adams also employs multiple angles and varying panels to increase movement and tension around the characters. Interestingly, a single loosely sketched panel on page 22 suggests a frozen moment in time, as Senators tally the final votes. This is number 9 of 17 Brave and the Bold issues with Adams art and/or covers (not including reprints). See today's posts or more Adams or Brave and the Bold issues. I have always been a big fan of Neil Adams starting back when he was doing Deadman.
Deadman, Green Lantern, X-men were just some of his best works. Once I finish reviewing his most well known works, I plan on showing some of his most obscure.
