Marvel Premiere #8 - Jim Starlin art & cover

Jim Starlin bronze age 1970s marvel comic book cover - Marvel Premiere #8 / Doctor Strange
Jim Starlin
Marvel Premiere v1 #8 featuring Doctor Strange, 1973 - Jim Starlin's overtly graphic style brings an interesting new interpretation to the character. Deceptively simplistic, his panels weave together into powerfully cohesive compositions. His varied layouts and carefully planned sequences (see interior page below) are characteristic of his work. Highlights of the story include the full page splash of Dr. Strange and his foe on page 21 and the hero's optimistic portrait on the final panel. Frank Giacioca and Dave Hunt do a credible job in maintaining the integrity of the pencils. This is 1 of 2 Marvel Premiere issues by Starlin.
