The Thing #14 - Steve Ditko art & cover

Steve Ditko
The Thing v1 #14, 1954 - Bat-like humanoids run amok on this arresting Steve Ditko cover. His creature designs are among the strangest, yet most interesting, of the golden age. Three of his four interior tales display the same artistic fervor. "Rumpelstiltskin" (shown below) is the most distinctive, providing a twisted variation of the children's fairy tale. This horror classic was later reprinted in Tales Too Terrible to Tell #8. This is number 3 of 5 The Thing issues with Ditko art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Ditko or Thing issues.
