Astonishing Tales v1 #12 featuring Ka-Zar, 1972 - Helping locate the missing Ted Sallis, Ka-Zar travels deep into the Florida Everglades. The Man-Thing, making his second appearance, lurks nearby. Neal Adams illustrates a brief interlude, including a recap of the swamp creature's origin. Drawn in pencil and minimally colored, this appealing segment was more likely intended for Savage Tales magazine. Despite the format change, Adams' pages are astonishingly (pun intended) good. Still, John Romita seems to have redrawn the woman's face on page 13 panel 5 (see interior page below). Other artists in this issue include John Buscema and Dan Adkins. This is 1 of 1 Astonishing Tales issues by Adams.
