Astonishing Tales #12 - Neal Adams art

Astonishing Tales v1 #12 featuring Ka-Zar, 1972 - The Man-Thing makes his second appearance, confronting the jungle lord deep in the Florida Everglades. Neal Adams illustrates a brief interlude, related to the swamp creature's origins. Drawn in pencil and minimally colored, this appealing segment was more likely intended for Savage Tales magazine. Despite the format change, Adams' pages are astonishingly (pun intended) good. Still, John Romita seems to have redrawn the woman's face on page 13 panel 5 (see interior page below). Other artists in this issue include John Buscema and Dan Adkins. This is number 1 of 1 Astonishing Tales issues with Adams art and/or covers.
