Flying A's Range Rider #17 - Alex Toth art

Flying A's Range Rider v1 #17, 1957 - In this brief back-up story, a dubious salesman hauls a wagonful of explosives into the local town. Alex Toth's exquisitely drawn panels reinforce his deft storytelling skills. On page four (see interior page below), the heroes arrive just as the salesman threatens a bank employee. Toth's facial expressions and figures are masterful, conveying the customers' fear and cowboys' determination. This is among the artist's best western tales for Dell. This is number 1 of 1 Flying A's Range Rider issues with Toth art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Toth or Flying A's Range Rider issues. See also this blog's Toth checklist.
