Uncle Scrooge / Four Color Comics v2 #495 - Carl Barks art & cover

Carl Barks
Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge / Four Color Comics v2 #495, 1953 - Armed with a centuries-old contract,  Chisel McSue lays claim to McDuck's fortune. To avert this disaster, Scrooge, Donald Duck and the gang must recover a trunk from a sunken ship called the "Golden Goose". Carl Barks' extensive research is evident in the ship's many details. His backgrounds are frequently drawn with undulating ocean waves, reinforcing the setting. In the second tale, Scrooge secures his money in the town's enormous water tank. Not surprisingly, the Beagle Boys soon come up with a plan to steal it. The main story was later reprinted in Uncle Scrooge #105, while the 10 pager appeared in Best of Walt Disney Comics #96172. This is 3 of 70 Uncle Scrooge issues by Barks.
