Uncle Scrooge #36 - Carl Barks art & cover

Carl Barks
Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge v1 #36, 1962 - Uncle Scrooge believes his first dime (named Old Number One) is a lucky charm and the sorceress Magica De Spell is intent on possessing it. Carl Barks' pacing is somewhat more erratic than usual, but largely offset by his splendid drawings. His second story, about Uncle Scrooge and a destructive goat, is slightly better than the main feature. His third effort is a four page Gyro Gearloose tale that just meets expectations. Note that this issue marks Magica De Spell's first appearance. This is number 36 of 70 Uncle Scrooge issues with Barks art and/or covers (not including reprints).
