Neal Adams |
Strange Adventures v1 #210 featuring Deadman, 1968 - Deadman borrows the body of a police detective, just as he closes in on his possible murderer.
Neal Adams' first page is minimal and a tad monotonous. The hero's search leads him to a rooftop, where a retired boxer houses pigeons. The story's action scenes benefit from sharply angular panels, but an accompanying splash page seems erratically composed. On the cover, Adams is more successful in presenting a close up of the notorious hook, the murderer's distinguishing feature. Interestingly, the end of the story has an Adams ad promoting the next issue. I have yet to find it in other DC issues from the same era. This story was later reprinted in
Brave and the Bold #100 and
Deadman #3. This is 5 of 15
Strange Adventures issues by
