Clint and Mac / Four Color Comics v2 #889 - Alex Toth art

Walt Disney's Clint and Mac / Four Color Comics v2 #889, 1958 - An English lad and an American boy embark on an adventure full of mystery and intrigue. Based on the Disney tv serials, artist Alex Toth brings a slightly darker, grittier tone to the story. Set in London, the scenes are masterfully drawn and impeccably detailed. From the various shops on the street to the surrounding architecture, each panel seems convincingly authentic. As the boys investigate further below the city's docks, the artwork becomes more painstakingly designed. As the plot reaches its climax, Toth delivers an explosive finish that showcases his phenomenal brushwork. This issue is arguably his finest work for Dell. This is number 1 of 1 Clint and Mac issues with Toth art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Toth or Clint and Mac issues. See also this blog's Toth checklist.
