Silver Surfer #18 - Jack Kirby art

Silver Surfer #18, 1970 - Inadvertently, the Silver Surfer encroaches upon the hidden city of the Inhumans. Jack Kirby illustrates the ensuing battle, stepping in to complete the final issue of the historic series. Madame Medusa, the amphibious Triton and the silent Black Bolt were all characters Kirby originally created and introduced in Fantastic Four #45. The artist not only provides his typically bone-jarring fight scenes, but the lyrical architecture of a futuristic cityscape. Smartly composed and confidently drawn, the artwork also boasts three phenomenal splash pages. The last, an extreme close-up of the Silver Surfer's face, directs his rage at the viewer on the final page. This is number 1 of 1 Silver Surfer issues with Kirby art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Kirby or Silver Surfer issues.

The cover pencils are likely by Herb Trimpe, not Kirby.

This is a wonderful site, very interesting and unique.

Overstreet credits this to Kirby, but it is pretty mediocre compared to the inside art. You could be right. If not Kirby, Trimpe would be the likely candidate.
