Hot Wheels v1 #5 dc 1970s bronze age comic book cover art by Alex Toth
Alex Toth
Hot Wheels v1 #5, 1970 - After the Wheelers purchase a 1932 classic automobile, its original gangster owner resurfaces to claim it at any cost. More experimental than previous issues, Alex Toth strictly adheres to a black bordered, nine panel grid on every page. It has a vaguely similar effect to a slideshow, but the artist's excellent pencils (and inks) keep the story from becoming monotonous. Other artists in this bronze comic include Ric Estrada and Dick Giordano. This is 5 of 5 Hot Wheels issues with Toth, /// Toth gallery
