Jungle Jim v4 #27 |
Jungle Jim v4 #27, 1969 -
Steve Ditko contributes three terrific stories in this issue, all of which are enjoyably drawn. Though competently inked, different sources give different credits. Comic book guides have historically credited the inks to one-time Wood assistant, Wayne Howard. The
Wallace Wood Treasury, however, credits
Wally Wood himself. At closer inspection, details such as the jungle foliage, splashes of water, and facial close-ups are sensitive in their delineations. Howard's later Charlton comics work certainly resembled Wood, but without the finesse and craftsmanship. To me, the stories appear to be primarily Wood with some possible assist from Howard. Anyone want to share their opinion? The cover is redrawn from an interior panel, but appears to be neither Ditko or Wood. This is 2 of 3
Jungle Jim issues by
Ditko and 3 of 3 Jungle Jim issues by
Wood.
