Frontier Doctor / Four Color #877 - Alex Toth art

Frontier Doctor / Four Color Comics #877, 1957 - Alex Toth was assigned to many comics based on television shows during the silver age. While other works usually employed a variety of line thicknesses, this issue primarily used thinner, finer strokes. It especially contrasts against his heavier lines during the 1970s and 1980s. His outdoor snow scenes are minimal, but masterful in using empty white spaces convey the landscapes. This is a splendid example of Toth's fine line approach, used sparingly during this artistic period. See today's posts or more Toth or Four Color issues.
