1st Issue Special #6 / Dingbats of Danger Street - Jack Kirby art & cover

Jack Kirby
span style="font-weight: bold;">First Issue Special v1 #6 featuring The Dingbats of Danger Street, 1975 - The initial concept of a group of boy heroes was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby during the 1940s. The genre would run its course, only to briefly resurface in subsequent decades. The Dingbats of Danger Street, who made their first and only appearance here, is an homage to that era. Kirby introduces the main characters in the opening splash, a variety of archetypes/stereotypes inspired by the artist's own urban childhood. The cover seems a bit hurriedly drawn and inked with a minimum of detail. KIrby's interior art is drawn in his typically dynamic style, using stunning splash pages at the beginning of each chapter. This is number 3 of 3 First Issue Special issues with Kirby art and/or covers.
