Gunsmoke v1 #1, 1949 Shady operators stop at nothing to get an old man's ranch, even if he has to frame his son for murder. Upon hearing their plot, young Pedro sends a call for help to his masked gunfighter friend Gunsmoke. In a separate tale, mild-mannered Chet Fairchild leads a double life. When justice is needed, he dons a skull-like mask and becomes the avenging Masked Marvel. Both characters appear for the first time in this issue, with both stories drawn by Graham Ingels.
