Yummy Fur v1 #1, 1986 - Reprinting his self-published comics from a few years earlier, Chester Brown reaches a wider audience thanks to Canadian publisher Vortex Comics. Short stories in this first issue, like "Walrus Blubber Sandwich" and "The Toilet Paper Revolt", were nonsensical, funny and thoroughly entertaining. Printed in black and white, Yummy Fur represented the rise of alternative comics during the 1980s. All stories, cover and art by Chester Brown. /// key 1st  issue
