Bambi v1 / Four Color v2 #12, 1942 - Published in the same year as the Disney film, this issue brings Bambi, Thumper and Flower into the comic book medium for the first time. Following the movie's lead, Chase Craig adapts the original Felix Salten book for comics. Despite the massive sixty-four pages, Ken Hultgren does a nice job with this golden age first issue.
