Leading Comics v1 #1, 1941 - A mastermind known as the Hand plots a series of crimes pitting villains against heroes. Star Spangled Kid & Stripesy take on the Needle, Crimson Avenger & Wing confront Big Caesar, Green Arrow & Speedy battle Professor Merlin, the Shining Knight tackles the Red Dragon and Vigilante goes after the Dummy. Naturally, the heroes succeed and reconvene to defeat the Hand. In the aftermath, the Seven Soldiers of Victory decide to continue as a team. Interestingly, Stripesy and Wing are both omitted from the cover (which would technically make eight members, not seven). This story, written by Mort Weisinger and drawn by Mort Meskin, also marks the Dummy's debut.
