Forbidden Worlds v1 #73, 1958 - To his father, Herbie Popnecker is a lazy, overweight good-for-nothing. Pushed to go outside and find something to do, the boy subsequently talks to animals, floats through the air and staves off an alien invasion. Due to his popularity, this oddball character appeared four more times in Forbidden Worlds before earning his own self-titled series.
