Jack Kirby / Wally Wood |
Challengers of the Unknown v1 #8, 1959 - In the first of two tales, the team investigates three mysterious boxes with unknown contents in a medieval castle. A second adventure takes the Challengers to another planet, helping the residents fight a robotic takeover.
Jack Kirby's last work on the series loses none of his enthusiasm. As usual,
Wally Wood's inks are harmonious and beneficial to the overall art. Note that this issue has the only cover collaboration between the two artists. "The Man Who Stole the Future" was later reprinted in
Super DC Giant #S-25. This is 8 of 8
Challengers of the Unknown issues by
Kirby and 5 of 5 Challengers of the Unknown issues by
Wood.
