The Munsters v1 #1, 1964 - Otherwise a typical suburban family, the Munsters comprised of a Frankenstein father, vampire mother, werewolf son, vampire uncle and "normal" niece. This first issue came out the same year as the television show. The episodes were shot in black and white to evoke a monster movie feel, but readers of the comic saw the characters depicted in color for the first time.
