Red Sonja #1 - Frank Thorne art + 1st issue

Red Sonja #1

Red Sonja v1 #1, 1977 - Following her debut in Conan #23 and subsequent run in Marvel Feature v2, the she-devil with a sword begins her first self-titled series. While traveling on foot, Red Sonja happens upon a mob encircling a wild beast in the forest. Her curiosity turns to shock when she sees their prey is a mythical unicorn. Frank Thorne, who drew most of the previous series, continues his streak. While his covers vary in quality, the artist's interiors are typically beautiful. Thorne's exotic detailing and masterful layouts make this first issue especially notable. This story was written by Roy Thomas and Clara Noto. Cover by Thorne. /// key 1st issue, 1st self-titled series begins / select Thorne art
