Action Comics v1 #242, 1958 -  A seemingly unbeatable alien arrives near Earth, shrinking our big cites and putting them into glass bottles for his collection. Finally infiltrating his spaceship, Superman puts things right with the help of the Kryptonian scientist, whose city resides in another bottle. The hero then vows to restore the miniature city of Kandor one day. Brainiac appears for the first time in this series, though his cover depiction is vastly different from the interiors (see page below). This Otto Binder story was drawn by Al Plastino.
