First Issue Special v1 #8, 1975 - Flying over the Antarctic, an American fighter pilot ejects from his damaged plane and parachutes down to a sub-tropical forest. Travis Morgan lands in Skartaris, a world within our hollowed out Earth. 

Populated with primitives, sorcerers, medieval soldiers and dinosaurs, this environment is rife with violence. Soon befriending a female native named Tara, Morgan becomes the Warlord and adapts quickly to the language and the culture. This story, influenced by Edgar Rice Burroughs and Jules Verne, was written and drawn by Mike Grell. Cover by Grell.
