Unexpected #152 |
Unexpected v1 #152, 1973 - An escaped con finds his way to a remote house in the bayou, occupied by an old couple with a taste for odd statues. Though not attributed, Alex Nino's artwork is clear and recognizable. His layouts are fairly conventional, but his drawings have the distinctive brittle quality common in his bronze age work. Other panels use line and texture to form creepy flourishes within the scenes. Nick Cardy's cover previews the same story, but is far less disturbing. Other artists in this bronze age comic include George Tuska and Alfredo Alcala. This is 1 of 3 Unexpected issues by Nino. /// Nino gallery
