Jack Kirby |
Fantastic Four v1 #50, 1966 - As Galactus prepares to siphon the Earth's energy, his herald suddenly turns against him. For his betrayal, the Silver Surfer is forever confined to our planet. The artwork by Jack Kirby is adequate overall, aided by Joe Sinnott's thoughtful inking. Unlike the previous issue, the Surfer dominates this cover, marking his first full cover appearance. This Stan Lee-written story also introduces Wyatt Wingfoot, a new Native American character who would go on to befriend the FF. This is 50 of 116 Fantastic Four issues by Kirby. /// key 1st full cover Silver Surfer, 1st appearance Wyatt Wingfoot
