House of Mystery #61 - Jack Kirby art

House of Mystery #61
House of Mystery v1 #61, 1957 - Curious why his captain who submerge an ancient box, a seaman tries to open it and unleashes mythical dangers. Jack Kirby does a fine job with this seafaring adventure. His artwork is lucidly drawn. Kirby varies layouts and panel shapes for greater fluidity. Expectedly dynamic, this tale is nicely representative of his better late 1950s works. This story was later reprinted in Super DC Giant #S-20. Other artists in this golden age comic include Ruben Moreira, Sheldon Moldoff and Bill Ely. This is 1 of 11 House of Mystery issues by Kirby. /// Kirby gallery
