Bold Adventure #3 |
Bold Adventure v1 #3 presents Spitfire, 1984 - When Russia becomes involved with a small African country, Colonel Fortune directs his team to infiltrate its government. Like the previous issue, this story is done in a rare horizontal format. While his layouts are deftly designed, Alex Nino's artwork are more muddied than usual, perhaps due to the fine screen patterns added throughout the panels. Still, the artist's opening splash and subsequent pages are richly drawn and finely detailed. Mike Kaluta also turns in a fine WWII-themed cover, quite possibly the series' best. Other artists in this copper age comic include John Severin and Rudy Nebres. This is 2 of 2 Bold Adventure by Nino.
