Real Life Comics #50 |
Real Life Comics v1 #50, 1949 - In ancient Rome, one slave leads a revolt that threatens the entire empire. Spartacus would later be known as a symbol against slavery and tyranny. While the gladiator-themed genre seems perfectly suited for his style, Frank Frazetta delivers a less than adequate effort. Some panels are well drawn, while others lack necessary detail. He struggles with figures and panel composition, like other works early in his career. Frazetta's best moment occurs at the end, as Spartacus faces his fate against overwhelming odds. Other artists in this golden age comic include Ruben Moreira. This is 1 of 3 Real Life Comics issues by Frazetta.
