Fantastic Four #4 - Jack Kirby art & cover + 1st Sub-Mariner revival

Jack Kirby
Fantastic Four v1 #4, 1962 - Running away from the FF and hiding in the slums, the Human Torch inadvertently finds the Sub-Mariner. Having regained his memories, undersea monarch declares war on the human race. Note that this is Namor's first revival since the golden age. This landmark issue is nonetheless drawn simply and straightforwardly by Jack Kirby. Large panels are used for chapter headings, but the artwork overall seems watered down. Kirby's cover is marginally better in composition. This silver age story was later reprinted in Marvel Treasury Edition #11. This is 4 of 116 Fantastic Four issues by Kirby. /// key 1st revival Sub-Mariner
