1994 #11 - Alex Nino art & cover

1994 magazine v1 #11, 1980 - Continued from the similarly themed 1984 series, this premiere issue begins with a compellingly colorful Alex Nino cover. Inside, his brief three-page tale more or less meets expectations, but its his main feature that stands out. "East of Euthanasia" presents a world ravaged by destruction, populated by human survivors and their mutated counterparts. Nino's layouts are less experimental than usual, focusing instead on his renderings. From the opening spread to the concluding pages, his drawings are breathtakingly detailed. His mastery of line and form is on full impressive display. Interestingly, Nino's last panel purposely changes to a more graphic style as the main character enters a more sanitized world. Other artists in this issue include Jose Ortiz. This is number 1 of 17 1994 magazine issues with Nino art and/or covers.
