Sub-Mariner v2 #59, 1973 - During the 1970s, Bill Everett made a brief return to Sub-Mariner, the character he created in the 1940s. Here he provides the cover inks in a classic battle between Sub-Mariner and Thor. Jim Starlin's pencils are nearly overwhelmed by Everett's inking, but his dynamic figure drawing still comes to the fore. Note how both super-heroes are given equal emphasis, so as not to reveal the outcome. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Sam Kweskin and John Tartaglione.
