Jack Kirby
Captain America #102, 1968 - Armed with the Red Skull's sonic key, Captain America must find out how it can stop the Sleeper's path of destruction. Jack Kirby delivers another outstanding effort. On his clever opening splash, Cap hold a morning newspaper of events transpired since the previous issue. More typically, subsequent pages are filled with movement and action. Kirby's only other splash demonstrates the Sleeper's power as he annihilates a huge smelting factory. Syd Shores' inking once again shines through. This is number 3 of 34 Captain America issues with Kirby art and/or covers.
