Durango Kid #4 |
Durango Kid v1 #4, 1950 - Dan Brand and Tipi lead a wagon train through the Appalachian Mountains, encountering wild animals and roving bandits.
Frank Frazetta's wilderness settings serve as lush backdrops for his superb figure drawings. In this case, an old pioneer's winsome daughter enhances many of the pages. In addition to Frazetta's "good girl" art, his depiction of a pouncing mountain lion (pages 1-2) sets this story apart. This story was later reprinted in
White Indian #11. Other artists in this issue include Joe Certa (Durango Kid stories). This is 4 of 16
