Durango Kid #3 |
Durango Kid v1 #3, 1950 - An indian tribe clamors for war, singling out a group of settlers making their way down river. Frank Frazetta delivers a quintessentially heroic first panel, placing Dan Brand and Tipi standing against a cloudless sky. The same beautifully rendered foliage that surrounds the characters appears throughout the story. Perhaps most impressive are the river scenes with delicately drawn ripples and waves (see interior page below). This story was later reprinted in White Indian #11. Other artists in this issue include Joe Certa (Durango Kid stories). This is 3 of 16 Durango Kid issues by Frazetta. /// Frazetta gallery
