Fantastic Four v1 #81, 1968 - Fighting alongside the FF, Crystal of the Inhumans undergoes a baptism by fire in confronting the Wizard. Jack Kirby's monochromatic cover says it all. His story art is even better, filling the pages with recurring action. Three full splashes are augmented by large spacious panels throughout. Perhaps the most dynamic scene is the arrival of the Fantasticar on page 11. The vehicle careens toward the viewer while displaying its massive, streamlined form. This is 81 of 116 Fantastic Four issues by Kirby.
