Silly Symphonies v1 #4, 1954 - Walt Disney's Dumbo premiered in theaters in 1941 and later that year its first comic book adaptation appeared in Four Color #17. Over a decade later, Al Hubbard does a phenomenal job with this second adaptation. Better than the first, his artwork captures the drama, excitement and tenderness of the original film. Although devoid of any splash pages, large spacious panels appear frequently, his work is most effective on the indoor circus performance scenes. Coupled with Hubbard's superb storytelling skills, this comic marks one of his finest efforts. This story was later reprinted in Four Color Comics v2 #668 minus 4 pages.
