Police Action v1 #1, 1954 - One of the few crime titles by Atlas, Police Action covers the exploits of law enforcement here and abroad. This first issue precedes the Comics Code, showing plenty of criminal violence but not much gore. An early work by Gene Colan chronicles a New York City policeman's first day on the job, pounding the beat in Hell's Kitchen. Other artists in this issue include Robert Q. Sale, John Forte and Paul Reinman. Cover by Joe Maneely.
