Pretty Deadly v1 #1, 2013 - Set in the American old west, a blind man and a little girl dressed as a vulture entertain the townspeople with a folk tale: a woman stuck in a tower, her encounter with Death, and the child they sired. Combining both the western and horror genres, this first issue introduces Fox, Sissy, Johnny Coyote, Big Alice and others. This Kelly Sue DeConnick story was drawn by Emma Rios, but it's her eloquent cover that steals the show. It looks even better when paired with the back. Note that there are several versions of this cover.
