Doll Man #8 - 1st Torchy

Doll Man #8
Doll Man (Quarterly) v1 #8, 1946 - A blonde bombshell finds herself entangled with the mayor, his son, and the local press. Using her beauty, Torchy Todd flits in and out of opportunities while men constantly fall all over her. Written and drawn by Bill Ward, her first appearance is a mere five page "featurette". Epitomizing the "good girl" art of the era, Torchy would continue to appear in Doll Man and Modern Comics before earning her own self-titled series. Other artists in this issue include Gil Fox. Cover by Al Bryant. /// key 1st appearance Torchy
