Abadazad v1 #1, 2004 - The imaginary world of a fictitious children's book becomes all the more real when Katie discovers the fate of her little brother Matt. In the same spirit of Narnia, Wonderland and Oz, the story takes a more contemporary view. Mike Ploog's cartoonish style seems well suited for this genre. There's a painterly quality throughout, sometimes with added textures. The vignettes of past events early in the book are the most memorable.
