Solar Man of the Atom #9 - Barry Windsor Smith art & cover

Barry Windsor Smith
Solar Man of the Atom v1 #9, 1991 - Prompted by his colleague, Dr. Seleski shows her the fabric of reality via his new, god-like powers. Barry Smith's images are borderline hallucinogenic, beginning with the opening splash (see interior page below). The telling of Solar's origin nears its end, but the artistry is as potent as ever. Each story contains a different two-page illustration on the center spread, when combined with the others from subsequent issues, forms a giant panoramic panel. Smith's unrelated cover is equally well drawn. Other artists in this issue include Don Perlin. Published by Valiant Comics, this is 9 of 11 Solar issues by Smith. /// Smith gallery
