Nestor Redondo profile

Nestor Redondo (1928-95) - A native of the Philippines, Redondo studied architecture before delving into advertising and comics. From the 1950s onward, he prodigiously drew in hundreds of Filipino comics, mostly printed in black and white. By the 1970s, his work drew the attention of DC, who quickly assigned him to their mystery titles. His first published American work was House of Mystery #194. From the early 1970s to the 1980s, Redondo worked mostly for DC, culminating in impressives runs on Rima the Jungle Girl and Swamp Thing. He had a classical style which idealized human faces and figures. Beautiful and sumptuous, his illustrations brought a high level of sophistication to comics. Read more on Wikipedia.
