Supermouse #1 - Frank Frazetta art

Supermouse v1 #1, 1948 - A trio of Frank Frazetta gems accompany three different text stories. His compositions are masterful, despite the confined spaces and long horizontal format. Two display the artist's penchant for detailed backgrounds, while "Gnicky the Gnu" (the largest illustration) puts more emphasis on the characters. All of them demonstrate a line quality not often seen in funny animal comics, past or present. Other artists in this issue include Ken Champin and Jack Bradbury. This is number 1 of 6 Supermouse issues with Frazetta art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Frazetta or Supermouse issues. See also this blog's Frazetta checklist or Top 10 Frazetta comics.
