Monsters Unleashed #6 - Mike Ploog art

Monsters Unleashed v1 #6, 1973Featuring the Frankenstein Monster, this particular issue also contains a six-page text story starring Werewolf by Night. The opening spread is beautifully rendered by Mike Ploog. Aside from the title and credit line, no story text appears to obscure the scene. It’s nighttime, and the Werewolf surprises revelers on the beach as he emerges from the water. Ploog’s viscous drawing style sets the eerily frightening mood. A few smaller illustrations appear on subsequent pages, most likely panel reprints from the Werewolf comic book series. Other artists in this issue include Val Mayerick and Carlo Freixas. This is number 1 of 1 Monsters Unleashed issues with Ploog art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Ploog or Monsters Unleashed issues.
