Double Life of Private Strong #2 |
Double Life of Private Strong v1 #2, 1959 - The short-lived revival of the Shield ends with this second issue. Jack Kirby's marginal cover is partially offset by his dynamic tale of spies and top secret planes. Al Williamson's work looks unrecognizable except in a handful of panels (see interior page below). Perhaps the layouts were provided by Joe Simon? Regardless, the finished work seems to be one of little effort or enthusiasm. “Ultra Sonic Spies” would later be reprinted in Archie's Super Hero Comics Digest Magazine #2. This is 2 of 2 Double Life of Private Strong issues by Kirby and 1 of 1 Double Life of Private Strong issues by Williamson.
