Amazing Spider-man v1 #9, 1964 - Electro makes his first appearance, recalling the origin of his powers before committing a slew of robberies. As Steve Ditko's work matures, his draftsmanship becomes more confident. Characters' expressions are more emotive and meaningful (see interior page below). Most noteworthy is the opening splash: a montage of faces and figures encircling Peter Parker. Ditko conveys the hero's life complications with a masterfully complex layouts.
