Equally superb are his impeccable layouts, making the most of the savagery and action (see interior page below). In John Byrne's tale, Sunspot (of the New Mutants) has a solo adventure in his native Brazil. Aesthetically pleasing drawings are supported by gray tone patterns. The opening splash is especially rich and textural. Other artists in this modern age comic include Tom Lyle and Joe Rubinstein.
